• Text: `Introduction to Quantum Mechanics ', David J. Griffiths (Prentice Hall, New Jersey: 1995) ISBN 0-13-124405-1.
• Syllabus: A schedule of what sections of the text will be covered is available.
• Homework: There will be problem sets due (almost) every week; they will typically consist of 3 or 4 problems from Griffiths.
• The Net: Feel free to communicate with me by email: armd@physics.wm.edu. I will sometimes use email to make announcements, provide hints, etc.
• Tests: There will be two 50-minute tests during the semester. Tentative dates: TBA
• Final Exam: The final exam will be given on Tuesday, May 4, 8:30-11:30 AM.
• Grading : The final grade will be based on

      Homework   -  30 %
      Tests      -  40 % 
      Final Exam -  30 %
  
         OR
     
      Homework   -  30 %
      Final Exam -  70 %
  
  

  whichever gives the higher grade for each individual student. This procedure means that students who may have had difficulty with one or both of the in-class tests have the chance to make up for it with a good performance on the final exam; after all - what is relevant is how much quantum mechanics you have learned at the end of the course!

  Letter grades will be assigned as follows:

  			A	94-100 %	A-	90-93
  B+	87-89		B	84-86		B-	80-83
  C+	77-79		C	74-76		C-	70-73
  D+	67-69		D	64-66		D-	60-63
