The G0 project in Hall C at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility will use an array of 256 scintillator detectors in an effort to determine the strangeness content, or G0. The team is hopeful that knowing the G0 constant will help provide a solution to the spin crisis for the proton. The scintillators, however, must have surfaces that are reflective to an optical quality. They are being polished, but it is a difficult task to be sure if the surface is perfect. For this purpose, a device must be built to automate the task of scanning the surface for missed imperfections and scratches.
