Presuming that the 3 spatial dimensions that we experience in our
universe are merely a 3 dimensional brane that floats in a
higher dimensional hyperspace and that the proximity of other
universes to ours affects physical constants in ours, one may seek
evidence for such a presumption. If the distance to a
neighboring universe changes, then such things as for instance
radioactive decay rates might be different in different parts of our
universe. The dependence on the proximity was studied, and estimates
made of whether beta-decay following a supernova might be useful as a
probe. This work is continuing.
