Postdoctoral position in computational condensed matter physics
A postdoctoral position is available
in computational condensed matter physics in
the
Physics Department
at
The College of William and Mary.
The research focus is
on the application and development of quantum Monte Carlo (QMC)
methods to study quantum matter.
More information about this research can
be found at
http://physics.wm.edu/~shiwei.
We are interested in both model
systems (correlated electron
models, ultracold atoms, optical lattices) and real materials. Candidates with
interests and background in either area are encouraged to apply. Experience
in computational approaches (e.g. QMC, density-functional and quantum
chemistry methods) is desirable. The present position is a part of the
Simons collaboration on the many electron problem, which offers many
opportunities for interactions and collaborations with the other
participating groups.
Candidates should apply via
the official William and Mary employment website.
Questions and inquiries should be directed to
Professor Shiwei Zhang by
email.
Consideration of candidates will begin immediately and continue
until the position is filled.
The College of William and Mary
is located in beautiful
Williamsburg, Virginia,
about 150 miles from Washington D.C. William & Mary is an EO/AA employer.
