The Department of Physics at William and Mary (W&M) and the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab) seek applications for a joint tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in theoretical physics with specialization in theoretical Nuclear and Hadronic Physics, including the fields of perturbative and nonperturbative QCD, hadron structure and spectroscopy, effective field theories and the application of lattice QCD to all aspects of strong interaction physics. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at the time of appointment (August 10, 2016). The JLab Theory Group, where the appointee would be a senior staff member, currently consists of fifteen permanent senior members (ten of whom have joint appointments at PhD-granting universities), postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. Candidates must apply online at https://jobs.wm.edu and submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and statements of research and teaching interests. You will be prompted to submit online the names and email addresses of at least three references who will be contacted with instructions for how to submit a letter of reference. For full consideration, submit application materials by the review date, December 1, 2015. Applications received after the review date will be considered if needed.
